Justin Fields Named Bears’ Starter For Week 3

Bears head coach Matt Nagy announced today that Justin Fields will make his first NFL start this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

Fields filled in for injured Bears singal caller Andy Dalton after he left their Week 2 game with a knee injury. The 11th overall pick in this years draft three for 60 yards and an interception in relief for Dalton against the Bengals.

Many have criticized Nagy’s decision not to start the Ohio State standout over the veteran Dalton. Nagy, who many believe to be on the hot seat, has stated that he believes starting Dalton over Fields to begin the season was the correct decision and raised the ire of Bears fans.

If Fields performs well this weekend it’s going to be interesting to see what decision the Bears make regarding the quarterback position, once Dalton is healthy.
